Product specification

Crystal-clear screws

Ideal fastening elements for optically sophisticated applications that require a high stability and hardness

Can be used for signs, shelves, displays, technical parts etc.

Inflame and extinguish after removal of the ignition source, burn smoking (smell of phenol)

Chemical features:

Resistant to many organic acids, mineral acids of high concentration, oxidants and reducing agents, fats and oils, neutral and acidic salt solutions, aliphatic and cycloaliphatic hydrocarbons and alcohols, except methanol; good resistance to most detergents and suds based on detergents; not resistant to aromatic hydrocarbons, halogens, ketones and alkalis.

Material specification of PC (polycarbonate):

Crystal-clear, colourless and amorphous thermoplastic

Suitable for use under the most extreme atmospheric conditions

Polycarbonate is the most shatterproof glazing material today

The impact strength is 250 times higher than that of glass of the same thickness

The notch impact strength is 30 - 40 times higher than that of PMMA (acrylic glass)

The excellent impact strength remains stable up to -40 °C

High heat resistance

Low creep

Suitable for food

Sterilizable, thus suitable for medical devices

Although PC can be permanently cleaned in hot water and steam sterilized, a continuous use in water above +60 °C is not recommended, because the impact resistance is affected under these conditions.

The transparency is 90 % at 1 mm thickness and 80 % at 10 mm; ultraviolet rays are almost completely absorbed.
