Hose Fittings Made from Plastics Such as PP, PFA, and PVDF Are Considered Hose Connectors for Soft Hoses

Due to their design, they ensure an operating pressure of 10 bar at +20 °C—achieved through a clamping mechanism (clamping ring) with a collar that serves as a stop. The hose can only be pressed in as far as the collar of the clamping ring allows, which contacts the fitting body. This design advantage provides an additional safety feature for the hose fittings. Another safety aspect is that the hose connection remains sealed even if the hose connector is damaged because the knurled nut firmly presses the clamping ring into the cone of the fitting body, creating a secure seal within the cone!
Made from PP
Hose fittings made from PP/hose connectors made from PP offer high resistance to alcohols, ketones, and concentrated acids and alkalis. The connectors are characterized by the highest hardness and stiffness, are hydrolysis-resistant, and are physiologically completely safe. The operating temperature of the hose fittings/hose connectors ranges from +5 °C to +90 °C, with a Shore hardness of D 72° according to DIN 53505.
Made from PVDF
Hose fittings made from PVDF/hose connectors made from PVDF are made from a very high-quality fluoroplastic used in petrochemicals as well as pharmaceutical applications in the food industry, biotechnology, and chemical engineering. PVDF/Kynar®/Solef® meets the highest mechanical requirements, is suitable for steam sterilization, and is considered an absolutely pure plastic. Hose fittings/hose connectors made from PVDF are FDA-, BfR-, and USP Class VI-approved, as well as KTW-compliant, and also meet the guidelines of the European Pharmacopoeia. The plastic has a Shore hardness of D 79° according to DIN 53505, is suitable for operating temperatures from -40 °C to +140 °C, and can withstand up to 10 bar at +20 °C.

Made from PFA
Fittings made from PFA or connectors made from PFA for soft tubes complete the range. PFA fittings are also suitable for adapting to PTFE, FEP, PFA, and MFA tubes. The connection principle is based on the tube being pushed onto the integrated barb. Clamping is done via a cutting ring made of PEEK, and the seal is achieved with a PTFE O-ring. This is tightly adapted with a knurled nut, ensuring a firm grip, significantly aided by the cutting ring in the fitting. The sealing is thus secured up to 10 bar at +20 °C. PFA is suitable for temperature ranges from -200 °C to +200 °C, with the Shore hardness of the connectors specified as D 60° to 65°. The connectors—approved according to FDA and USP Class VI—are FDA-compliant and meet the guidelines of the European Pharmacopoeia. They are steam sterilizable and guarantee high media resistance. As a high-quality fluoroplastic, PFA fittings are used in mechanical engineering, process engineering, chemical equipment construction, as well as in laboratory and electrical engineering.
