Bubble Chemical Tubes Made of PVC
Reichelt Chemietechnik offers a wide variety of high-quality chemical hoses made from various plastics and elastomers as part of its expertise in plastics and hose technology. One of the most frequently used and versatile materials is polyvinyl chloride (PVC), as PVC hoses are highly chemical-resistant, cost-effective, pressure-resistant, and yet flexible. The range of PVC tubes includes, in addition to standard non-reinforced versions, food-grade hoses, pressure hoses, fabric-reinforced, pump, and medical hoses. Bubble tubes made from soft PVC (PVC-P) are also part of this product lineup.
What Are Bubble Tubes?
What exactly is a bubble tube, what makes it unique, and what are they used for?
The name gives it away: bubble tubes feature a sequence of expanded and tapered sections (bubbles) along their length, spaced approximately every 90 cm (35.4 inches). The inner diameter of the bubble is either 12.7 mm (0.5 inches) or 19.0 mm (0.75 inches). Cutting into the bubble allows for various connections to be made. Thinner hose sections can be inserted, enabling connections to both male and female connectors of different diameters. These plug connections are easy to assemble (simply insert the hose ends into each other) and provide a completely secure seal.
Bubble hoses eliminate the need for additional hose connectors. They are especially useful when extending existing systems or replacing damaged tube sections in current installations.
Reichelt Chemietechnik offers two types of bubble tubes, including an antistatic (electrically dissipative) version.
PVC Bubble Chemical Tube
This crystal-clear specialty hose made of PVC-P (according to formula SHD 90) is used as a chemical and laboratory tube in virtually pressure-free systems. It is transparent, flexible, non-porous, and features an ultra-smooth inner surface that is non-wettable. The high quality of these products is achieved through the use of carefully selected additives. Every 90 cm (35.4 inches), the hose expands and tapers again, allowing for easy connections to other hoses or existing connectors. The nominal diameters range from 3.2 mm (0.125 inches) to 12.7 mm (0.5 inches), with bubble diameters from 12.7 mm (0.5 inches) to 19.0 mm (0.75 inches).
The tube is highly resistant to aging and is unaffected by oxygen (O2) and ozone (O3). It has a Shore hardness of A60 and a temperature resistance range of -20°C to +60°C (-4°F to +140°F), with sterilization possible through autoclaving at +121°C (+250°F). In our online shop, you can order this specialty hose in lengths starting at 5 meters (16.4 feet) without minimum order surcharges or similar fees.
Antistatic Bubble Tube – Electrically Conductive
The antistatic tube is electrically dissipative, with a discharge resistance of <108 ohms, measured at the inner surface. This property is achieved through an antistatic carbon core (PVC-graphite blend), ensuring reliable electrical conductivity. The Shore hardness is A77, but otherwise, the design is nearly identical to the non-conductive version.
